4 July
Zone 16 has had a great start to PCANSW championships, in which we have to thank the officials and Camden men’s shed for restoring the grounds so well after the floods.
Zone16 has eight riders participating in the show jumping with riders placing in most events, in what were strong technical courses that challenged all riders. Congratulations to Ellie Miller winning Reserve Champion, with only one point the difference in the final placings in the Associate Division.
Congratulations to Alyssa Smith (4 placings including winning the Grand Prix) and Phoebe Doohan (3 placings), both riders competing in their first state event.
Congratulations also to Kate Smythe (4 placings) Kelsey Szczepanik (3 placings) Sigi Schneider and Myf Clark (2 placings), Adele Clark (2 placings) and Brianna Smith (3 placings).
The show riders have arrived with events starting at 9am this morning in that discipline.
SATURDAY 2 July
Pony Club riders from all over NSW and some parts of Queensland and Victoria are busily preparing for the NSW State Combined Championships being held in Camden from the 2nd-10th July 2016.
The event marks the biggest multi-discipline Pony Club Championship in NSW since 2009, with over 780 entries received across 6 equestrian disciplines.
Being held at the Bicentennial Equestrian Park in Camden, the event will showcase two Olympic equestrian disciplines of Dressage and Showjumping, as well as the very popular Showriding and Jumping Equitation events. For the first time, Combined Training has also been included in the State Championship program, where riders participate in both Dressage and Showjumping phases for a combined total score.
Due to recent wet weather, The State One Day Event Championships were cancelled as destructive flood waters caused damage to the cross country course at the venue. Many Eventing riders will still compete in an Advanced Combined Training Championship to be held on the 9th & 10th July.
