DESCRIPTION:To assist clubs and members understand gear checking\, assist current new and potential instructors at rally days clubs (and camp) you are invited to participate in a gear checking course and instructor’s twilight series. These presentations will be conducted by Fiona Gruen. \nPurpose: \nTo assist zone 16 clubs and their members have a good understanding of pony club gear requirements\, successfully compete a PCANSW gear check certificate and learn new ideas or tools to support rally days and camp instruction. \nSafe equipment and safe riding should not only be when at pony club but also when riding at home so come along and learn new ideas to help your children at home – the equipment needs of pony club are a great starting point for every time our young riders ride their ponies. \nWho should attend:  \nEvery club within zone 16 is invited to participate. \nTo attend you must be a financial member of pony club\, you do not need to be qualified instructor – these evening presentations are designed to assist new instructors plus give some new ideas to existing instructors. Please note these evening presentations do not replace NCAS or state-run schools for those seeking NCAS or needing to renew NCAS qualifications. \nRemember if you are a senior instructor or club captain and do not hold a current pony club instructor’s qualification You MUST hold a gear check qualification. This is a requirement of PCANSW. The first session will be an opportunity to obtain your gear check qualification. \nTo successfully complete the gear check course \n\nAttend briefing session\nComplete written assessment (http://www.pcansw.org.au/docs/general/423/gear_check_certificate.pdf )\nDemonstrate ability to perform gear check safety\n\nVenue: \nCanberra Riding Club\, \nCorner Barton Hwy and Racecourse Road Lyneham \nDate and Time: \n\n\n\nThursday 15 February 2018 \nThursday 1 March 2018 \n\n\nCommencing at 5.30pm for a 6pm start\, we anticipate finishing at approximately 8.30pm  \nFocus: safety\, setting up your environment\, horse\, gear\, lesson/activity.  \n \nCommencing at 5.30pm for a 6pm start\, we anticipate finishing at approximately 8.30pm  \nFocus: learning through fun\, different ways to teach activities and how to teach different ages with games. \n \n\n\n\n  \nNCAS State Instructors School  \nHold the date 5/6 May 2018  \nWhat to bring \nPen and paper \nRSVP (for numbers only) \nPlease email: Zone16secretary@gmail.com with your name and club at least 24hours before the date. \n
